Slipstream RX is a setting-agnostic rules-lite tabletop game for 2-6 players.
It is one part board game, one part card game, one part roleplaying game; Slipstream RX focuses on letting people tell stories about breakneck racing competitions featuring heated rivals, while allowing players to zip through dangerous terrains and tear through their enemies.

The core gameplay eschews random dice rolls in favor of playing cards, allowing players to maintain complete control over their actions. Players make use of high cards to move quickly, but make use of lower cards in order to activate their stats; with both types of cards being inherently useful to play, luck is minimized as a factor and more emphasis is placed on planning and hand management.

Psychology is also an extremely important part of the game, as many of Slipstream RX's advanced plays rely on being able to anticipate what your enemy is going to do and either cutting them off, making them back away from you, or using them against each other. The winner of any given race isn't necessarily the one who keeps drawing the best cards out of the deck, it's the one who knows how to make use of what they have...and how to pit their rivals against each other.

While nothing will perhaps be as fast as playing a video game, Slipstream RX seeks to streamline the experience by keeping the rules straightforward and the mechanics simplified. There should be as little haggling over the rulebook as possible, and there should be only a brief period of time between getting an idea for a character and being able to race him/her/them against others.

Do you want to play as a OC challenging the canon cast of a beloved racing franchise? Do you want to play in an original world, where the survivors of the finish line get fame and glory? Or do you simply want a potential game supplement for playing a racing game in an existing campaign, putting away the dice and pulling out the cards for a sidestory session?

Whatever your poison of choice, slam the pedal down, grab the wheel...and race the wind.

To play, you will need:
- The rulebook
- A deck of standard playing cards (with Jokers)
- Some tokens
- Square grid maps
- 3-6 hours of time (depending on roleplay, number of players, etc)
- People you like, or at least trust to not punch you

The game download includes:
- A 38-page rulebook (.pdf version)
- Scribble pictures reminiscent of when you drew racecars in class as a kid
- A 27-page Google Docs/docx version of the rulebook, with only one picture
- A template for setting up and hosting the game on playingcards.io
- That's it
- Yup
- I'm getting coffee

Thank you very much!

I must say, the graphic design on the project is top notch! And very cool to see a genre not sufficiently explored by current RPG games getting explored in this project. Well done.

Thank you very much! I like racing and I think there's a lot of storytelling potential there, so I wanted to give it a shot. I'm glad to see that people are liking it so far.

A really unique type of PVP gameplay coupled with typical TTRPG roleplaying opportunities. I can't really claim to be unbiased, considering I did editing for this project, but testing has been a blast. I'm go fast... :)
